What Is the Australian Achiever Award?
The Australian Achiever Awards have been running for 28 years, recognising Australian businesses for remarkable customer service across dozens of industry categories. The program is run independently by Australian Achiever Pty Ltd and is open only to service-based small businesses. Large corporations are excluded from eligibility entirely.
How the scoring works:
Each business nominates four customers and one trade supplier as referees. Australian Achiever staff then contact each referee directly by phone and take them through a confidential five-minute survey. Because the interviews are confidential, referees speak freely. The business has no influence over what is said in those reviews.
Scores are assessed across eight customer service criteria and reported back with a full breakdown, customer verbatims, strengths, and suggested areas for improvement.
The award has three levels:
- Highly Recommended: overall score above 80%
- State Winner: highest-scoring business above 90% in a state and category
- National Winner: the highest-scoring business nationally per category
National Winner is the highest possible outcome. There is no tier above it. We achieved it in 2024 and again in 2026, scoring 97.81% this year.
